Ryan Kavanaugh is an American film producer who has made a wide variety of films. He was the CEO and co-founder of Relativity Media, which he founded in 2004 with Kevin Spacey. Previously to that he had been president at Rogue Pictures for six years, where he produced The Usual Suspects (1995) and Seven (1995) and executive produced Cruel Intentions (1999).
Ryan Kavanaugh is a four-time Academy Award nominee. His films have earned over $2 billion at the box office.
In 2011, he became one of the world’s youngest billionaires, worth an estimated $1 billion.[5] In 2014, he partnered with Ron Burkle to launch Relativity International, a subsidiary that was designed to help distributors and financiers with the global marketing of film releases. In May 2016 Relativity Media filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after producing and releasing three expensive box office flops in a row, Masterminds and The Disappointments Room.
Its most successful recent hit is The Social Network (2010), which earned more than $220 million worldwide.
Ryan Kavanaugh has also produced for TV, including Fox’s TV series Glee (2009) and The Tudors (2007).
