Professional baseball in Northern California has long been led by the San Francisco Giants that was brought in 1958. The SF Giants CEO, Larry Baer uses his unique visionary perspective to keep the ball rolling since 2012. That is the year that he joined with the assistance of a new ownership group, and helped lead them to a second World Series title in three years. That meant that the Giants won three World Series championships in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
The Giants CEO and his team moved to Oracle Park which is the field where Larry Baer helped oversee the construction so that the athletes could begin this great streak in their new uniforms to go along with it. So many fans have called Oracle Park one of “the best ballparks ever built” as well as getting awarded Sports Business Journal’s Sports Facility of the Year in 2008. Much of this is because of the breathtaking views that can be acquired of either the skyline or the San Francisco Bay depending on the seat of the fan.
As Giants CEO and chairman of the Giants Development Services he is now taking his construction expertise to a mixed-use neighborhood on the site across McCovey Cove. This will bring 1,500 new residential units; 250,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, and amenities; over a million square feet of offices; and 8 acres of parks and natural open space.
The SF Giants CEO is a leader of the area that is distinguished by his education at Harvard Business School as well as UC Berkeley. He was given Alumnus of the Year at Harvard and also the Excellence in Achievement award and the Excellence in Leadership Award from the University of California Berkeley.
