JD of Jingdong and its subsidiary JD Logistics has recently completed a new agreement with King Long. By collaborating with King Long, JD will begin manufacturing low speed commercial vehicles. These vehicles will be operated autonomously as well as being used for making deliveries all throughout China. JD of Jingdong will contribute to the research of these types of vehicles while King Long will manufacture them on a regular basis. The agreement to begin the process of developing these new commercial vehicles was reached in early September of 2020.
In a recent announcement, JD of Jingdong and JD.com Logistics will begin contributing to the project by developing the autonomous driving system along with the operating platform. The company will also oversee the cooperation standards of making these vehicles as well. King Long will engage in the deployment of commercial vehicles.
