Young Living Essential Oils Created In Sync With Mother Nature

For thousands of years, people have been extracting essential oils from a wide array of plant sources. The use of oils can range from the medicinal to spiritual. Essential oils can enhance diets or be used as cosmetics. While ancient in practice, it is interesting to note that the adopted use of essential oils is probably more prolific today than at any time in history (Flickr).

The latter fact is exemplified by a Utah-based company called Young Living, founded in 1993. The firm has grown to be among the largest makers and sellers of essential oils in the world. Operating on a multi-level marketing model, Young Living membership is of more than 4 million. It employs 1,200 workers from its headquarters in Lehi, Utah, along with several thousand more across its global operations. A core value of the Young Living company is respect for the environment and sustainability. To this end, Young Living maintains a number of global farms that incorporate production methods that work with Mother Nature rather against her.

The Young Living Essential Oils company maintains farms in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America. In all of these locations, they maintain their foundations and academies to always help their communities. An example of a popular essential oil product produced by Young Living is their blend with the name of “Thieves”. It gets this ID from a legend telling of four thieves of the 15th Century. They concocted a special combination of oils to create a substance they believed protected them from getting caught while stealing. Thieves was made primarily from rosemary oil, cloves oil and vinegar.

Young Living technicians have updated the ancient thieves blend using cinnamon bark oil, lemon oil, clove oil, eucalyptus radiata oil and rosemary oil. This modern version of the 15th Century creation will not provide users today with a license to steal. However, Young Living provides the key elements for personal and home care products unlike any other. Thieves deliver a spicy and welcoming scent that can be used in toothpaste to dish soap. Young Living products are developed and informed by the firm’s Scientific Advisory Council. This is a group of prominent, Ph.D. level researchers from around the world whom the company says are “redefining the way the world looks at wellness.”
