Professor Chris Brummer Offers an Insight on Fintech Policy Through His Fintech Week.

Professor Chris Brummer has a wealth of experience and uses it to educate firms and governments on how to best react to new developments and challenges currently present in the financial system.

Professor Chris Bummer Wealth of Experience

Professor Chris Bummer’s wealth of experience dates back to the many years he has spent on the field. Though he is currently a law professor at the Georgetown Institute of International Economic Law, he has served in several universities.

For instance, prior to joining Georgetown, he was an assistant professor at the Vanderbilt Law School. Besides that, Professor Chris Bummer also acts as the Faculty Director of Georgetown and is often called upon by different universities as a visiting professor.

He also doubles as a member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s subcommittee on virtual Currencies. And has recently concluded his term that lasted for three years for the National Adjudicatory Council of FINRA.

The organization powered by congress and is famous for its outstanding work with regulating the securities industry cemented his reputation as a great contributor to advancing investor protection during his tenure there.

Bringing Fintech To Life

Years later, Professor Chris Brummer had an idea to create a forum for discussing fintech policy within the nation’s capital Washington D.C.

Following his new vision, Professor Chris Brummer created fintech week, an event that constantly seeks to bring leaders from several fields to have meaningful conversations between them and the leaders from the financial and regulation community.

The aim is to create lasting relationships between the attendees of the forum, ranging from philanthropists, entrepreneurs to non-profits with the financial and regulatory community, and spark conversations around fintech policy.

Nuggets of Wisdom

Professor Chris Brummer also had some insight to offer on entrepreneurship; being a policy entrepreneur himself, he urged entrepreneurs to make good use of the current trend on Digital Inclusion.

He also added that the success of digital inclusion would depend in part on the collaboration and participation across various industries.
