How Georgette Mulheir Has Aided in Defend Haiti´s Democracy Organization

For close to three decades, Georgette Mulheir has worked in more than 31 countries to aid disadvantaged children. She has participated in large-scale programs that strive to transform the lives of children across the globe. In addition, Georgette Mulheir has assisted in forming policies that prevent children from being taken from their families. These policies ensure that children are returned from orphanages and other institutions to their families. When countries such as Haiti go into political unrest, women and children are not spared. This is why Georgette Mulheir is working hand in hand with the Haitian government to ensure that the rights of women and children are protected as the fight to defend the country’s democracy continues.

Her works of charity extend to years of research that she has conducted to prove that institutionalized children are deprived of loving adult family care harms the child’s physical, intellectual and emotional development. Human rights defendant Georgette Mulheir also confirmed that Institutionalization also greatly reduces the chances of the child having a good life. Finally, she argues that children are voiceless and powerless and, if not protected, will get left behind by global development.  Georgette Mulheir has also been on the front line to counsel the European Union on shifting resource allocation to reforming children’s services. Georgette Mulheir is also a renowned author, putting several books on women’s and children’s rights.

In addition, she has played a key role in the training of key policymakers in over 44 countries, further fostering the agenda of transforming children’s services for the better. She has been awarded for her dedication to the welfare of women and children in countries such as Haiti. Georgette Mulheir is also the council of the global alliance for children, a private international grouping organization dedicated to raising funds to help children in adversity. Born in Oldham in 1968, she has three siblings, a sister, and two brothers. Georgette Mulheir studied music at Sheffield University and then proceeded to work at an MBU unit. She has made significant contributions to the Global alliance for children since its establishment in 2013.
