Asot Michael has hit the headlines once again after taking an initiative to renovate two schools in his constituency. Parham and Peres’s primary schools have been in devastating conditions, but students can now have a reason to smile courtesy of Michaels’s initiative. He is also committed to ensuring the hand sanitizers and hand-washing sinks are available in schools because of the COVID 19 pandemic. Such facilities will ensure learning institutions are safe for the children since it will also improve their hygiene. Well, Asot Michael decided to roll out the project after he surveyed both schools. These two institutions had several shortages, which include a lack of social amenities and poor hygiene levels. He also noted poor security in these schools, so he decided to equip them with security booths at the gate to ensure anyone who enters the school premises is screened to ensure learners are safe. Michael attributed slow development to poor leadership that has taken the course for the past 20 years. The ruling parties from UPP and ABLP failed to meet his constituents’ needs, which is why he decided to take a personal initiative. Therefore, he proved he is a man of his words after making his donations to schools.
Kindergarten to grade one was given a package with face masks, stationery, school bags, sanitizers, and crayons. Grade 2-6 were given pens, pencils, geometrical sets, books, face masks, sanitizers, and rulers. This was one way that showed Michael valued education, and he is willing to support learners to achieve their dreams. Asot Michael decided to mobilize other stakeholders because he noted that many problems need to be resolved. It will require collective responsibility. Some areas that he feels should be given attention include education, healthcare, and economic development. These are the pillars of good livelihood, which should not be ignored because they directly affect people’s lives. Michael is a firm believer in change. He strongly advocates for the rights of his people, and other leaders should also follow suit. The renovation of the two schools will be among the achievements, and it will serve as an inspiration to others. Michael is determined to get the job done, and soon he will be launching other mega-projects in his constituency.
