James Dondero is most known for his business acumen, having co-founded Highland Capital Management, a multibillion-dollar investment fund in 1993. James Dondero, also popularly known as Jim, has over three decades of experience working in investments and credit markets. James Dondero holds many advisory positions and sits on the board of several organizations. He is currently the chairman of NexPoint Advisors, L.P. He oversees the company’s investment solutions focused on real estate and activities such as broker dealership.
As the portfolio manager at NexPoint Strategic Opportunities Fund, the closed-end fund of NexPoint Advisors, he has grown the company portfolio to include investments in multi-family assets through the NexPoint Residential Trust. His technical expertise has also enabled him to serve at the leadership levels of companies such as Cornerstone Healthcare Group Holding, Inc, SeaOne Holdings, and many others.
