The airline industry has been greatly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic especially in terms of crew training. In recognition of this potential training shortfall Alpha Aviation Group founder Bhanu Choudhrie has invested in a flight simulator and training center. With many pilots not logging as much air time as usual this investment is to keep them current in their training needs.
Alpha Aviation Group is an independent company that seeks to pick up the slack where major airlines have been lacking. Companies such as United Airlines have postponed their flight training and recent issues with 737 planes having caused American and Southwest Airlines to halt training as well.
Bhanu Choudhrie is looking ahead to the end of this global pandemic knowing that pilots may not be in great demand now but that will change. It is therefore vital that flight crews keep their very specialized skills sharp and ready for the inevitable reopening. Domestic travel is already returning in several countries who have managed to contain the pandemic such as China.
The hope is that offering flight simulators as a cheaper training option than accrued airtime will be a profitable option. This will offer important training while cutting the costs of flight fuel and mechanical maintenance of a real plane.
In 2002 Bhanu Choudhrie founded Alpha Aviation Group in London, England. Born in Delhi, India Choudhrie attended college at the University of Boston. The son of Sudhir Choudhrie, a London based businessman, Bhanu went on to an internship post college for JP Morgan.
After his time with JP Morgan Bhanu Choudhrie went on to co-found C&C Alpha Group becoming the executive director in 2001. At C&C Bhanu works with his brother and a world class team to advise and consult with venture capital investors.
In 2016 Choudhrie decided to further his education by attending an Owner and Management Program at Harvard Business School.
