Indeed, this is no small task because both she and her husband come from very wealthy families. This is why she works so tirelessly. If there’s any doubt to her commitment to philanthropic pursuits, one only needs to look at her family foundation that has donated well over $100 million.
What better person is there to serve as the U.S. Secretary of Education. In Betsy DeVos, the nation has someone who will not back down from a worthwhile fight. More than this, her track record for securing wins is legendary. This means that school vouchers and charter programs will continue to gain ground throughout the 50 states. Families at all levels of income have greater educational choice of how their children are now educated.
Dick DeVos affects great changes in his own right. While he fell short of becoming the governor of Michigan, he was instrumental in making the Grand Rapids skyline what it is today. His track record includes changing the Michigan Constitution to a right-to-work state. The first aviation charter high school was also aided by his efforts.
Together, the DeVoses have lifted up our educational system, stayed true to their Christian values, and developed business ventures that we can look back and appreciate.
