David Azzato says that this current pandemic is unlike any people have faced before. It has caused businesses in England and other parts of the world to come to a standstill. Now that the current lockdown is almost over the Ministers of the government have come up with a plan to help entrepreneurs get back on their feet again. Now England is in the midst of another lockdown as we speak. Here is more on the plan and what it means for businesses in the United Kingdom.
The plan is called the coronavirus interruption loan. The plan is to get as much money as necessary into the hands of small and medium-sized businesses. Applications for the loan can be made until the end of January 2021. The government can guarantee loans all the way up to five million pounds. This is one way to get the economy moving again. One of the things that the business has to show is that it has been directly impacted by the coronavirus.
While this may be a start for some businesses David Azzato points out that it may not be enough to help entrepreneurs in London and around the country. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Federation for Small Business have come up with their own idea. The idea is to pay each business up to seventy-five hundred pounds for the three-month loss of work. The plan costs between two and six billion pounds.
