Throughout the United Kingdom, there some very accomplished entrepreneurs. James Drake is one of them, but he is rather unique in that his specialty is academic publishing. As the Future Science Publishing Group’s Chairman, Mr. Drake makes important decisions at a company that is heavily involved in scientific research of not only a medical nature but also a biotechnological nature. Impressively, Drake is also this intriguing group’s Founder. If you have heard of either Nanomedicine or Oncology Central, then Future Science Group is behind both of those publications. Future Science Group is not only his entrepreneurial pursuit, however. In addition to building that company in 2003, James Drake had already become the Founder of Expert Reviews Ltd and Ashley Publications Ltd. He did that in the 1990s. Informa PLC even carried out an acquisition of one of his previous companies, Expert Reviews Ltd.
Before getting started in either entrepreneurship or academic publishing, Mr. James Drake chose to first further his education. He attended the University of Leeds and explored his interest in biotechnology. Although that academic time with the University of Leeds certainly gave James an enviable foundation for his publishing career, he had another role first. That role was with BIBRA, and he worked in its food toxicology research institute. Finally, James Drake’s charities have also impressed many of his peers, with the Drake Calleja Trust standing out as well as the Drake Foundation. James Drake did not waste much in between founding each of these foundations. One of them was launched in 2015, and the other was founded in 2014. Underprivileged musicians and sufferers of concussion injuries the focuses of each of these non-profit foundations. The former is served by the Drake Calleja Trust, and the latter is served by the Drake Foundation.
