James Gutierrez is currently the founder of a venture capital firm called Instk Ventures, which is focused on fairly early stage investments in fintech and consumer products. Before founding the venture capital firm, he was the co-founder of Progreso Financiero, which provided over $1.5 Billion in unsecured loans.
He is also the founder of Aura, a lender which operated virtually instead of using in-person storefronts. This digitized the process of applying for loans as well as the company’s marketing. As a result of this improved level of efficiency, the company was able to successfully double the number of loans which they created. The reason why James created Aura is because he saw the quick evolution in consumer preferences to a more digitized experience from a brick and mortar one.
Aside from being a successful entrepreneur, he is also a board member at various philanthropic and social organizations. He has contributed his expertise to several different organizations which are aimed at social justice. He is also on the board of several different organizations, contributing his time and expertise in a philanthropic capacity.
Currently, James Gutierrez is on a mission to serve others. Because of that sense of mission, he is working to change the consumer lending industry in order to create opportunity for others.
